Filters for the Sonaha
There’s a small people group called the Sonaha who have been fishermen for centuries. Living in the western area of Nepal, they recently were resettled because their village became part of Nepal’s National Parks. This move came at a high price because they no longer have the river to fish from. Instead they are learning how to farm the land they’ve been given or figure out other ways to make a living.
One of their young people came to us who has worked hard at translating the Bible into their mother tongue over the past few years. This young man could easily work abroad and earn good money, but instead he is going back to his village to help them see possibilities and potential.
On World Water Day, March 22, 2021. our ambitious friend took a load of filters on a bus 20 hours outside of the capital city of Nepal. His people now have clean water and the Word of God.
